Senior Neuroscientist & Head of Clinical

Millions of people worldwide suffer from brain-related issues, such as migraine & dementia, that can already be addressed with the latest breakthroughs in neurotechnology.

We leverage cutting-edge research to develop vastly better solutions for the greatest challenges to brain health.

Mission-driven and with extensive international experience in MedTech, neuroscience, and AI, we have swiftly raised significant public and private capital and are currently at the most exciting point in the life of a startup: launching the moonshot. Help us build the business and grow the team to advance our innovations and bring them to the masses.

Tasks

YOUR ROLE: Senior Neuroscientist & Head of Clinical

You will complement our founder team and tribe of outstanding (neuro-) engineers and advance our research by conducting both secondary as well as primary research in closed-loop TMS x AI related applications. You will also engage heavily in strategy definition, both in terms of clinical trials as well as product development.

For that, it is essential to co-locate (residency) with the team in Vienna, Austria – but we value performance and value-creation over facetime.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: Primary + Secondary Research & Clinical Trial Management

  • Research independently as well as in a collaborative environment (incl. literature research, conducting experiments from simulations and pilot studies to large-scale clinical trials in neuromodulation)
  • Propose and test new (closed-loop) TMS protocols pushing the boundaries of efficacy of adaptive non-invasive brain stimulation
  • Heavily collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design, optimize, and execute our Regulatory Roadmap and Clinical Trial Protocols
  • Oversee the planning, initiation, execution, and closure of clinical trials, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of clinical trial data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with data protection regulations as well as Brightmind: AI’s SOPs and all applicable QMS/RA requirements, incl. GCP
  • Drive science at Brightmind: AI from peer-reviewed publications, conference abstracts, grant applications to patent applications and organizing hackathons
Requirements

YOUR PROFILE: Accuracy, Curiosity & Drive

Must-have’s

  • Evidence of exceptional ability in neuro/brain science (e.g., PhD in Neuroscience) incl. experimental and analytical design of neuroscientific research experiments
  • 2+ years industry experience (professional services, MedTech, CRO, etc.)
  • 2+ years of clinical management experience, preferably in Neuroscience
  • A strong record of accomplishment in their field, including (peer-reviewed) publications, presentations, and patents
  • High attention to detail
  • Outstanding focus on structure, quality, organization and decision making
  • Fast-paced startup-compatible attitude (“hungry achiever”)
  • English proficiency
Nice-to-have’s

  • TMS experience or extensive experience in neuromodulation
  • GCP training
  • Medical background
  • Experience working with (dry) EEG electrodes
  • Work permit for the EU
Benefits

YOUR BENEFITS: Gain deep and hands-on experience in the vivid and fast-growing field of neuromodulation with personalized and highly innovative solutions

  • Be at the forefront of the NeuroTech industry in a small, but fast-growing team
  • Change the world and work with some of the smartest and most talented experts
  • Ride a steep learning curve
  • Access world-class mentors
  • Earn equity and create value for yourself
  • Enjoy the advantages of a meritocracy with regards to days off or working hour schedule
  • Co-locate with ergonomic furniture in an exciting prime office location in the city center of Vienna
  • Enjoy free coffee, brainfood, drinks, and brain stimulation experiments ;-)

ABOUT US: Private and public capital-backed technology enthusiasts

Brightmind: AI is an Austrian MedTech startup founded in Fall 2022 that brings clinically proven, self-learning neuromodulation to everyday life. With its ‘closed-loop’ non-invasive brain stimulation technology, Brightmind: AI personalizes stimulation and continuously improves the efficacy of therapies to the central nervous system. The competitive advantage is based on this continuous learning cycle and proprietary designs of an effective stimulation technique.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and value diversity. We consider all applications equally regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or gender identity. We strongly encourage individuals from groups traditionally underrepresented in tech to apply.

WHAT WE VALUE: Bright minds

  • Driving change in the field of neurotechnology, rapidly
  • Working on a cause that one can be proud of
  • Intellectual integrity
  • Taking ownership
  • Having fun
